Angora Goats

The Angora is very picturesque and ancient breed of goat. Our herd of Purebred Angora goats are an exceptional addition to the family farm.

The most valuable characteristic or the Angora as compared to other goats is the value of the Mohair that is clipped.

The average Angora goat in the U.S. shears approximately 5.3 pounds of Mohair per shearing and are sheared twice a year. They produce a fiber that has a brilliant luster and is famous for its ease of dyeing and felting.

Our Mohair is spun as 60% Mohair and 40% Rambouillet at the Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont and comes in bulky weight and sport weight.

1 skein of yarn is about 4 oz and costs $10.
1 skein will make a baby's hat
It takes about 7 skeins for a sweater.

Please contact Laura at 423-608-4977 for your order today. We also have Angora Goats for sale at the farm.
